The Golden Trout (Oncorhynchus aguabonita) while not native to Wyoming, does have an interesting history. Golden's were introduced to Wyoming from California and is now stocked in 133 high alpine lakes in Wyoming. Which makes catching one of these beauties not for the faint at heart. The Golden is known for its great coloring - a red lateral band often with dark vertical banding (parr marks) along the flank which divides the upper greenish section from the lower gold portion.
