RIO Skagit Tapered Leader - RIO Sink Tips and Shooting Lines

Understanding Sink Tips, And How to Use Them

If you want to get your flies down deep quickly and you want them to stay down deep, you need your Skagit-style line to have multiple sinking densities. The pickpocket is a great line for putting your fly in the slow zone down near the bottom of the river. The back section of the line floats, the middle section has an intermediate sink rate of about 1.5-2 inches per second, and the front of the line is S3 with a sink rate of 3 inches per second.
